Having a garden designed for the first time can be daunting. To set your mind at ease and make the experience more enjoyable we have provided some information on our landscape design process:

If you are building or renovating, consider your garden as an integral part of your overall house design, in terms of budget and planning. A lovely garden adds between 10% and 15% to the overall value of your home so it is wise to have a realistic budget for the installation of your landscape.

Stage 1 - Design Consultation

This is when we look at the site and discuss ideas, yours and ours. We will look at the architecture of your house, talk about your lifestyle, ages of children and anything else that may influence the creation of a garden uniquely suited to you and your family. At this meeting we will give verbal ideas and solutions on the best use of space for your home.

Stage 2 - Preliminary Design Concept

A site evaluation will be carried out and any features or levels not indicated on your own plans will be added. One or two options of a concept plan at scale, will be prepared in colour based on your design brief. This will be the floor plan of your new garden and it will show all the hard landscaping such as water features, pergolas, pavilions, retaining walls etc. This is collected from the Rock'n Stone office.

Stage 3 - Final Landscape Design

Another meeting is organized in the Rock'n Stone office to discuss changes that need to be made to finalise the concept. A fully documented working drawing is prepared that outlines planting schedule, showing botanical names, pot sizes and quantities. As well as an itemized materials list and construction details. The plan is finalized then collected and quoted by the installing landscaper.

Stage 4 - Project Management

Weekly site visits are scheduled until final completion of the project. Liaising with builders, landscapers and any other relevant contractors to complete the project to a high standard.

All invoicing is checked and approved in the project management phase. This alleviates you (the client) of possible problems.
