We all want our garden borders to be neat, tidy and clearly defined at all times, but the maintenance that comes along with this can be daunting. However, steel garden edging can take the hassle out of maintaining neat edges for lawns, driveways, path edging and flower and vegetable beds.
Rock & Stone supplies a variety of reliable garden edging products in Galvanised steel and Corten steel.
EverEdge is a popular choice among Australians for its durability, weather-resistance, and lack of maintenance. Not only is EverEdge steel garden edging easy to install, but it can be mown over, which eliminates the tedious process of achieving neat edging manually. It can also be easily flexed to create virtually any shape or curve that you may need for your garden. No extra fittings are required, and it’s suitable for poor ground conditions as well.
Create distinction within your garden, with Rock & Stone’s selection of one-metre EverEdge products – choose between a variety of colours in either 75mm, 100mm or 125mm height for your garden edging.
How to install your own steel garden edging in Melbourne, Australia
First, make sure you’ve got the following tools and equipment ready:
- Lawn Edger
- Mallet
- Wooden Block
- Screwdriver
- String & Spikes
- Gloves
Instructions:
- Mark out the area and the shape that you want to edge, using a plumbline or piece of string.
- Prepare the ground by cutting a clean face, using a spade or a half-moon blade. This ensures your garden edging will have a great finish.
- Remove excess turf, but make sure you hold onto some of it in case you need to backfill later.
- Lay out your edging strips along the lawn edge so that they’re easily accessible when needed. Using a vice, a work bench and a block of wood (or another piece of EverEdge), you can easily form the edging strips to any angle you desire, giving you a clean corner.
- It’s good to start and finish your installation with a 90-degree angle. Interlock the sections, making sure that the EverEdge logo is always facing forwards. Scrape the teeth in the ground to better prepare the area.
- Keeping your foot on the previous join, drive the steel garden edging into the ground until the top edge is flush where your soil and grass meet.
- Once you’ve installed two or three pieces, use a screwdriver to push the tongue on the bottom joint to about 45 degrees.
